Our sites are open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am–4pm.

Satinflower Nurseries is located on the Coast Salish Territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples, as well as the Sc’ianew Territory and shared territories of T’Sou-ke and lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples (Songhees and Esquimalt).

We kindly ask that you leave pets at home. This helps protect wildlife in and around the nursery, including ground-nesting birds. Thank you for your understanding.

Directions to Saanich:

Look for our sandwich board located on Lochside Drive.

Lochside Drive is part of the Lochside Regional Trail,  shared by cyclists, pedestrians, equestrians, and vehicles. This trail includes several road and driveway crossings, including our nursery entrance. Please drive slowly and with caution and yield to all trail users.

Important navigation note:
Some GPS apps incorrectly suggest driving continuously along Lochside Drive from Island View Road or Mitchell’s Farm. Portions of Lochside are now non-vehicle access/bikes-only. Please follow the directions below rather than GPS shortcuts.

Cars: There are three main vehicle routes to reach the nursery outlined below.

Option 1 (via Old East Road - recommended from Victoria):
Turn right off Hwy 17 onto Old East Road. Follow Old East until you reach Dooley Road. Turn right onto Dooley Road, then left onto Lochside Drive. Look for the Satinflower sign and enter slowly via the gravel driveway.

Option 2 (via Sayward Road):
Turn off Hwy 17 onto Sayward Road. Follow Sayward and turn left onto Hunt Road. Stay on Hunt and turn left onto Dooley Road. Turn right onto Lochside Drive and continue to the nursery entrance. 

Option 3 (via Island View/Martindale):
If approaching from the north, you may also exit at Island View Road and follow Martindale Road to Dooley Road. Do not continue driving south along Lochside Drive, as portions are bikes-only. 

Bicycles:  From downtown Victoria, follow the Lochside Trail north until you see our Satinflower sign.

Bus: Take bus 72 or 75 from Victoria to Hwy 17 at Sayward Rd or Tanner Rd at Bella Vista Dr, respectively. From there, a 1.2-2km walk is required. For the most accurate schedules and route info, please check the BC Transit website.

Directions to Metchosin:

Look for our sandwich board located on Metchosin Road.

Cars: Take Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N towards Langford from Victoria then exit 10 towards View Royal/Colwood. Merge onto Burnside Rd, then continue straight onto Old Island Highway S, and follow it directly onto Sooke Rd. Make a left onto Metchosin Rd, then continue for another 8 kilometers. The nursery is on the right side of the road. Look for the tall wood fence and the Satinflower sign; the entrance is just past the fence. Use caution when entering the driveway as it is a single lane, and there may be vehicles exiting.

Bicycles: Follow the Galloping Goose Trail from Victoria for about 25 kilometers. Once the trail crosses Happy Valley Rd, turn left to stay on Happy Valley Rd all the way into Metchosin. When you reach the road's end, turn left onto Metchosin Rd; the nursery will be on the left.

Bus: From Victoria, take bus 95 to Langford and exit on Jacklin at Dunford. Bus 55 will take you into Metchosin where you can disembark at Metchosin at Wootton. Walk northeast on Metchosin Rd and look on the left side of the road for the nursery. Bus schedules may vary throughout the week; we recommend checking the BC transit website for maps, fares, and schedules.
